Some of us were bored silly yesterday (Saturday) and had to get out. I
rode Shot-Gun with Clay Hadley and Mickey the Mooch-Pooch, Jerry and
Nancy Rich along with Wonder-Dog Eddie were in their Jeep. We were
headed toward Young on 288 looking for snow... Well, we found plenty as
the road in the mountains closed maybe 15 miles in due to a
Spun-out/Stuck plow truck. We got out and played in the snow a little
while, took some pictures and headed back to civilization. We missed Dar
on this trip, but she had a project in the Sewing room that just kept
calling her name.
Uploading from PC so pictures are out of order. Also a short video I made - it’s all of 2 minutes long, so be sure your
comfortable before clicking...

We're only at about 3,000' here and there is a TON of snow. Very rare indeed |
|
Clay Hadley's Jeep - Well - He tried to pull into an unplowed parking area and we got stuck. Jerry had to yank us out of the snow with his Jeep. The snow was deep and very wet/heavy. |
|
Well at least we got some of the muck off the undercarriage when we were hung up in the snow. |
|
Nancy is very happy - She's a Snow Lover! |
|
Yeah, it really does say "Closed" |
|
Yeah, the clouds are coming right down the mountain. It would have been cool to be above the clouds, but we opted to just not push our luck. |
|
Clay and Mickey playing in the snow. Mickey LOVES rolling in snow! |
|
The cactus look so lost in the snow. Just to give you some perspective - The Saguaro (cactus with arms) are probably 30-40' tall. |
|
Just some gOOfy guy out in the snow... |

That's Lake Roosevelt in the distance. A key source of water for the cities in this region. |
